Please read the "system overview" to learn how the EconJobMarket.org system works in general. You have to establish an account to use the system. Once you have registered, you can create your basic job-market packet (contact information, curriculum vitae, job-market paper, etc.). You can then submit applications in response to advertisements posted on the EconJobMarket.org site. Applications are done electronically by simply clicking on the icons of specific advertisements. Nothing needs to be sent by regular mail and no paper documents are needed.
You also designate "references" -- that is, people who will securely submit letters of recommendation on your behalf. Your references, or their staff representatives, will be asked to upload letters. The letters are kept confidential; they are not made available to you and are only transmitted to the authorized organizations to whom you apply. Furthermore, your references will be able to control exactly where their letters are sent.
You can log onto the EJM site whenever you wish to update your job-market packet, submit applications, and monitor the status of your files.
