Economics 161/558: Econometrics and Data Analysis

Course Description:

Econ 161 is a one semester undergraduate course designed to give students an introduction to probability and statistics as it is used in economics, with "hands on" applications of these concepts using computers and real data sets.

The course will illustrate the importance of statistical inference in a variety of real world applications of statistical methods. Students who are interested in applications of statistics in other fields such as biology, sociology, political science and environmental science should consider taking Statistics 101-103.
