  • Textbooks: (both are required for this course)

    Yuval Noah Harari (2015) Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind Harper Perennial, available at Georgetown Bookstore or $14.99 on Kindle $40-$50 on various sites such as Amazon).

    Sanjit Dhami (2016) The Foundations of Behavioral Economic Analysis (available at Georgetown bookstore for $50.00 or used paperback on Amazon for $27 to $42)

    Most other readings will be provided for free as pdf files (lecture slides) via the Econ 452 website though there are several other optional books that are on the reading list that can be downloaded as IBooks or Kindle or paperback at relatively low cost.

  • Overview: Economics 452 is an intermediate level course on behavioral economics.

  • Prerequisites: Economics 305 or 306 and 405 or 406 and Math 220 or 140. Calculus and other mathematical tools will be used in this course but predominantly the class is more non-mathematical than mathematical

  • Grades: Course will be graded on an A-F scale based on: problem sets (40% of grade), 1 take home midterm (20% of grade), a class project including an in-class presentation of your results (40% of grade)

  • The midterm will be due before thanksgiving break, probably on
    Monday November 5, 2018.

  • The class project will be due at the end of the final exam period, on
    Friday, December 21, 2018 by 5:00PM.
