PAGE LIMITS: Click on one of the options below:

Click to confirm that the submission satisfies the guidelines of the 45 page limit (including references, tables, figures, and appendices to be published with the paper), plus 25 page limit for online appendix, margins at least 1.25 inch on all sides, 1-1/2 spaced text in 12pt font (which corresponds to 32 lines per page).
OR
Click to confirm that the submitter has received permission by email from the editor to exceed the page limit of 45 pages plus 25 pages for online appendix.
Click here to confirm that all authors accept our replication policy. Econometrica has the policy that all empirical, experimental and simulation results must be replicable. Therefore, authors of accepted papers must submit data sets, programs, and information on empirical analysis, experiments and simulations that are needed for replication and some limited sensitivity analysis. If an exemption is requested, it will be at the editors’ discretion whether the paper can then be reviewed.
YES: Author will request in a cover letter an exemption from providing the materials described here, or for restricting their usage
NO: No exemption will be requested and all required materials will be submitted if paper is accepted
Click here to confirm that all authors accept our prior publication policy. In particular, if an author has submitted or published related work elsewhere, or does so during the term in which Econometrica is considering the manuscript, then it is the author's responsibility to provide Econometrica with details. This notification must include appearances in Proceedings volumes (such as AER P&P, JEEA P&P, IEEE Proceedings and so on.) -- the submission process will not proceed without this confirmation.
Click here to confirm that all authors have read our Disclosure Policy. In particular authors will disclose any financial support or, if a paper is experimental, that an IRB was obtained.
Click to confirm that submission can be accessed on a publicly available website.
Submissions must be uploaded in PDF format and should be in an easy-to-read format. Papers that are difficult to read may have to be returned without review. You will be able to attach a second document with the submission; we ask that you do so when it contains information important for the review process. Please do not submit a standard cover letter indicating the submission of a manuscript for review.

Authors may want to consult the guide to creating PDF files regarding PDF file conversion and other formatting issues.
